From the ashes of the defunct and often contentious Ugly Eight Fantasy Football league, a new league was born. Sitting around the often used kitchen table at North Water Street in the tiny hamlet of Lomira, Wisconsin, eight visionaries created the Football Oh God Do We Love Football Fantasy Football League. Also know as FOGDWLF (pronounced Fog De Wolf).
The first season saw the tiny league find its feet and when the dust settled Pa's Powerhouse had been the first to take home the coveted Jack Rose Traveling Champions Plaque. But more importantly, the league formed roots and began to grow.
Since that first year, the league has changed. The league headquarters have moved to the bright lights of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, signifying its role on the national stage. The league has grown to include 10 teams and has lost one franchise on the way, the expansion team the Monkeys, who found even in success they could not share their bananas.
But the league moves on adding teams including Reagle Beagle and Hogmallies to the old stalwart teams of Pa's Powerhouse, three-time champion the Brawlers, Who's Your Daddy!?!, Mama's Big Boys, Chubby's Chargers, the Doggs, Pookie's Fire, and the Bryan Buffaloes.
They fight, battle and eat a lot of food on draft day all just for the shot to hoist the Champions Plaque (and eat a lot more food on End of the Year Party day). Why? Because its football and, God, do we love football.
